Call for papers

We are honored to announce the 1st International Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition. 

This conference is organized jointly by the Zanzibar Planning Commission (ZPC) as HOST, Ministry of Water, Energy, and Minerals Zanzibar as CORE HOST,  Together with, the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), Karume Institute of Science & Technology (KIST), and Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH). The conference will be held on December 07-09, 2021 in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The topical themes of the conference cover Unpacking Renewable Energy Resources, Technology, and Commercial Viability for Sustainable Development.

This conference is a comprehensive venue for the free exchange and dissemination of ideas on Renewable Energy Resources, Technology, and Commercial Viability for Sustainable Development. 

The conference aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, industry, decision-makers, and graduates researching the intersections of these fields to dialogue and share experiences in order to come up with knowledge, technologies, and recommendations to inform policy/ decision-makers on the available potential of Renewable energy resources that could be adopted in Zanzibar in the welcoming atmosphere of the Zanzibar Archipelago

Unpacking Renewable Energy Resources, Technology and Commercial Viability for Sustainable Development


Sub-theme

  • Waste To Energy Facilities: Economic Aspects, Legal Framework, Technologies, and Success stories

  • Solar and Wind Energy: Production economic, Social and environmental aspects, storage technologies and Grid Interconnection facilities, Legal Framework

  • Tidal and Wave Energy: Economic, environment and Social aspects, technologies and innovations and legal framework aspects at the globe of the blue economy

  • Cross-cutting: ICT as an enabler and gender aspects in Renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.

We strongly encourage academic as well as policy and practice-based submissions. Thus, contributions from policy-makers, renewable energy councils, funding agencies, policy experts, intermediary organizations, advanced students, and academics are highly appreciated! Papers and posters from other policy fields which deal with transformation, sustainability, and resilience are explicitly welcomed too!

All submissions to the conference will be reviewed by at least two independent peers for technical merit and content. Conference Proceedings

If you wish your paper to be published in the Conference Proceedings, once you have registered please ensure that you upload your full paper through the online system by November 08, 2021.

Final papers are only accepted in Microsoft Word format. Before submitting your paper please ensure that you have read the Final Paper Guidelines.

The official Conference Proceedings will be published online in a PDF format under an ISSN system.
